Over the past 12 months, we have supported almost 100 unemployed job seekers aged 18 to 24 in Telford to help them boost their confidence, develop their skills, and support them into work. Two of the participants we've been working with have successfully landed a job with a fantastic employer, Network Plus.
Many of the learners whom we have worked with over the past 12 months throughout this funded programme have struggled to find sustainable employment due to a variety of barriers. Working with employers like Network Plus is an invaluable addition to our offer. The team have spent time with our learners at our training centre in Telford, advising them of the opportunities within the organisation and how they can access new careers.
Tyler and Abyan pictured below have been working hard for several weeks now, with Network Plus. Helping to maintain landscapes on national highways across the region. Both new employees have said they're really happy in their role. Likewise, their employer couldn't be more pleased with the impact both have made in a short time.
Darren (Midlands Contracts Manager) said “I know its daunting when starting work for the first time, so we are bringing them up to speed slowly. There is a lot to learn, but they are both working well and improving each day. Hopefully, they both enjoy the work and stick at it. It’s a good job with a lot of prospects”
The team at ANTA Education is looking forward to working with Network Plus again in the future and already have further interviews arranged. In the adult education industry, we need more employers like Darren and the team who have proven to be open-minded, approachable, and supportive. We can’t thank them enough!
It often only takes a brief introduction between two people to change the direction of one person's life. This story is just one example of many that we've been able to share throughout our UKSPF funded programme for Telford & Wrekin.
