Everyone’s heard of apprenticeships, but what about Traineeships?
We’ve been providing Construction Traineeships to young people in Telford to support them into a career in the industry. Here we tell you more about what a Traineeship includes and how they can support young adults into employment and further education.
What is a Traineeship and how can it benefit you?
Combining hands-on work experience with education and training, a Traineeship can be a great pathway towards securing an apprenticeship or employment opportunity.
Here we run through the main features of a traineeship so you can see if it’s right for you.
Improve your maths and English skills
If you didn’t get the results you were hoping for in school or college, a traineeship can help you obtain a level 1 or 2 qualification in a more relaxed classroom setting. Obtaining these means you’re also able to progress onto an apprenticeship or open up yourself up to more job opportunities.
Develop your skills and gain new ones
As part of a Traineeship you’ll get to spend time developing skills that will look great on your CV. From communication and teamwork to problem solving and time management, you’ll gain invaluable soft skills that employers look on favourably.
Get to experience the workplace first hand
All traineeships include an element of work experience that allows you to get a real understanding of the workplace and build your confidence in a new environment.
Be workplace ready
You’ll leave your traineeship with new skills and qualifications, armed with an up-to-date CV and some work experience under your belt too. If you don’t choose to go straight into employment, you’ll be able to apply for an apprenticeship and learn as you go!
If you’re interested undertaking a traineeship you can email rachel@antaeducation.co.uk, or if you’re an employer looking to take on some new talent we can work together to achieve this.
